You can find inexpensive books, DVDs, CDs and other unusual items at this annual book sale sponsored by the Friends of the Metropolitan Library System.
From 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, there will be a pre-sale party for members of the Friends of the Library. Those who would like to join the Friends can buy memberships in the lobby of Expo Hall the day of the party from noon to 4 p.m., and again at 6 p.m. Annual dues are $10 for individual or family memberships, good for four tickets to the party. Memberships for seniors are $6 and are good for two tickets.
It will be will be from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 23-24, at the State Fair Park (state fairgrounds) in the Oklahoma Expo Hall (formerly the Made in Oklahoma Building).
Admission is free.
The sale will feature 400,000 books covering a wide range of topics! Selections include fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, biographies, medicine, westerns, romance, children’s books, encyclopedias and reference books, plus a large selection of videos, DVDs and books on tape. In the General Section, hardbacks will sell for $1, paperbacks 50 cents, and magazines 25 cents each or two dollars for a bundle. In Collectors’ Choice books are individually priced, most less than $5. Proceeds from the book sale are used to buy items not covered by the library’s budget, and to provide funds for specialized programming.
