January 6, 2009Happens: dailyScience Museum Oklahoma opened its second major exhibit of 2007, continuing the museum’s rebirth initiated less than one year ago. The first phase of Destination Space opened December 21. Science Museum Oklahoma’s latest exhibit, Destination Space, explores the challenges of escaping Earth’s gravitational forces astronauts face during missions and investigates the tools necessary to recreate Earth’s environment crucial for human survival outside our atmosphere. By illustrating the laws of physics, the exhibit demonstrates the human ability to understand and plan for the risks and challenges of exploring other worlds. Destination Space also allows visitors to examine every aspect of living and working in space. From space suits and tool boxes to human physiology and personal hygiene, visitors prepare themselves for a voyage into other worlds.
